Jose Padilla Navarro celebrates 40 years at El Fenix.
This waiter must love his job. He’s be at it longer than most.
El Fenix Mexican Restaurant celebrated last Wednesday the 40th anniversary of what the company calls “one of its finest waiters in the entire chain.”
Jose Padilla Navarro started at the El Fenix in Oak Cliff as a busboy at the age of 21 in February 1976. Forty years later, he is still going strong as one of the most popular and beloved waiters in the 22-restaurant chain.
In addition to Padilla, the restaurant currently has several long-term employees who have been with the Tex-Mex institution for 20 to 50 years. These dedicated and loyal members of the El Fenix family were honored at a Legacy Dinner, which took place during the grand opening of the restaurant’s Weatherford location in 2015.
